    Changing to succeed

    Achieve success

In general my life has been pretty good, I am currently employed, doing things that I like to do, I have a beautiful 7 year old son and a wonderful wife with whom I have been married for 9 years. We live in a very good area in a small city in Colombia called Manizales. Slowly, day by day we have been more concerned because we believe that we have lost our senses completely. We want to move away from this comfort and not do things we like, we want to do things we really love.

    Family time
    The three of us!

It all began a few months ago when two friends got married in Colombia, but they live in the U.S., they began telling us if we had ever thought about living there and if we would be willing to change everything we currently had. To tell you the truth, I was very excited at first, but then I had second thoughts, I would be leaving my parents, and my son would be taken away from his grandparents, he really loves them and enjoys great quality time with them. I had even updated my CV in order to start looking for greener grass but totally halted the “operation U.S”, and we came back to our “senses”.

Now that was all great and gut, but three weeks ago we went to Orlando to visit some of the parks and that just made everything clear for us. We want better opportunities for our son and for ourselves. How could we make things happen and help ourselves get noticed in a highly competitive job market? And that is when I remembered seeing Udacity’s nanodegree in Digital Marketing, I started thinking about how much this could help my family get closer to our goals and possibly help us relocate in the midterm. I had to enroll, and I did. You possibly know how much I love marketing and connecting people so you might expect how much I was looking for something like this nanodegree program.

I have been very excited working in the projects and also paying close attention to all the coursework, both the core marketing classes and the extra activities for career planning. I would love to create a follow up post and tell you all about how everything is going for our family.

Keep your fingers crossed and please, if you have any advice for us, do let us know!
